Delhi to Spiti & Chandratal Expedition – Tour Package

Distance: ~530 km | Duration: 12-14 hrs.

Board an evening AC Volvo bus or private vehicle from Delhi. Drive overnight along NH-3 through Chandigarh and Mandi into the Kullu Valley.

Altitude: 2,050 meters.

Arrive in Manali by morning and check into your hotel. Spend the day relaxing to prepare your body for the higher altitudes ahead. Stroll around Old Manali cafes, Mall Road, and the 16th-century Hadimba Temple.

Distance: ~200 km | Duration: 7-8 hrs | Altitude: 3,800 meters.

Pass through the 9.2 km Atal Tunnel to enter Lahaul Valley. Follow the Chandra River through Gramphu and Batal before ascending the steep bends to Kunzum Pass (4,551 m). Descend into Losar village and proceed along the Spiti River to Kaza.

Distance: ~80 km round-trip | Altitude: 4,100m – 4,580m.

Visit the iconic Key Monastery perched on a hill above the river. Cross the Chicham Bridge to Kibber, then head to Langza (the fossil village) featuring the giant Buddha statue. Send a postcard from the Hikkim Post Office (4,440 m) and visit Komic (4,587 m) before returning to Kaza.

Distance: ~100 km | Duration: 4-5 hrs | Altitude: 4,300 meters.

Drive from Kaza back towards Losar and cross Kunzum Pass. Take the narrow diversion trail to the Chandratal camping area. Hike the final 1 km to reach the shores of Chandratal (Moon Lake). Overnight stay in dome/Swiss tents.

Distance: ~120 km drive + 530 km overnight bus.

Catch the morning light at the lake before driving through Batal, Gramphu, and the Atal Tunnel back to Manali. Freshen up in Manali, explore local markets, and board the evening Volvo bus back to Delhi.
